A Group of retired all india services officers, Army, IAF and Navy veterans, academicians and other professionals have demanded immediate arrest of J&K leaders Mehbooba Mufti and Farooq Abdullah alleging that their recent statements were anti-India and amounted to sedition.
The group claimed that the two leaders were continuously trying to misuse the freedom of expression, talk ill about the country and its Constitution, and promote separatism.They cited Mufti’s threat to not unfurl the Indian flag and Abdullah saying China’s help would be taken to restore Article 370.
The 267 signatories include former chief justice of Rajasthan high court Anil Deo Singh, former chief justice of Sikkim HC and chairman CAT Pramod Kohli, former RAW chief Sanjeev Tripathi, former Kerala chief secretary Anand Bose and former UP DGP O P Singh. ( TOI )
