JKAACL & KAALI DAS THEATRE ORGANISED FUNCTION TO PAY TRIBUTES TO THE DEPARTED SOUL

Rich tributes were paid to noted Poet, Playwrite and Visual Artist Sajood Sailani.

A function was organised at Academy Headquarters which was presided over by former Director DDK Shabir Mujahid, while Programme head DDK Gulab-ud-Din Tahir, Son of Sajood Sailani, Showkat Shahri. President Kaali Das Theatre Dr. Ayash Arif and Chief Editor JKAACL Mohammad Ashraf Tak were also in the Presidium.

A documentry prepared by DDK Srinagar on Sajood Sailani under the title “QAD AAWAR” was screened on the occassion .

Welcoming the guests present on the occassion Chief Editor JKAACL Jinab M.A.Tak described Sajood Sailani as an institution in himself.

The person who spoke on the occassion include Mushtaque Barq, Mushtaq Ahmad Mushtaq, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Bashir Dada, Tariq Javaid, Yousuf Shahnaz , Zameer Ashaiee, Ab Majeed Khan, Nisar Naseem, and Shakeel-ur- Rehman

Showkat Shahri described Sajood Sailani as a legend who immensly contributed to our Cultural legacy. He advised the artists and writers fraternity to dedicate themselves to various Cultural sensibilities like that of his father.

Gulab-ud- Din Tahir, Ayash Arif and Shabir Mujahid described Sajood Sailani as a versatile artist whose contribution is spread over more than five decades.

A number of admirers of Sajood’s art were present on the occassion which include
Mushtaq Ali Ahmad Khan, Shafeeq Qureshi, Imdad Saqi, Mushtaq Bala, Yousuf Shaheen, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, Manzoor Ahmad Mir, Sheikh Haneef, Dildar Ashraf, Gulfam Barji, Altaf Hussain, Sahil Dar, Khurshid Mir, Shahzad Bashir, Showkat Ah Magray, Hakeem Javeed, Bashir Qadri, Ab Majid Wani, Hassan Javeed, Farhat Sidiqe. Javaid Iqbal Khan, Saleem Salik, Jameel Ansari,

Proceedings of the function were conducted by Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather.
