Poem -13

She

By Khursheed Wani

Like the drops of the wind,
She descends from unseen hills,
Carrying my dreams across the vale,
Shielding my secrets like the clouds sail.

Like the rhythmic verse,
She descends with a soft melody,
She meets me in a sacred space,
Where time stands still,
And we dance in the quiet night.

Khursheed Ahmad Wani is a teacher, poet, author, and reviewer. His debut poetry book, The Seraphic Garland, was published in March 2023, and his poems have appeared in international magazines and anthologies. These include Wheelsong Poetry Anthology 1 and 2, Emerald, Addiction, ILA Magazine, Prime Heritage Magazine, Our Changing Earth, and more. He holds BLit, B.Ed. and PG in Political Science. Hailing from Batagund, a beautiful village in the north of Kashmir’s frontier district, Kupwara, he won the 2023 International Academic Award for Contemporary Literature – the Lucius Annaeus Seneca ‘Prize De Merit’ for his creative poetry, awarded at Bari, Italy.
