Poem -29
Copper Trails
By Lily Swarn
Quintessential copper trails of nostalgia Glimmers of broken promises
Slipping on crocus petals of shaded mauve Winged seeds dancing to the strains of evening raagas
There’s a certain slant of light in April evenings
Taj mahal before moonlight descends from her high horse
Orange flames of dusk camouflaging the bleating sheep
Jacarandas drowning the earth with violet madness
There’s a certain slant of light in April evenings
Insomniac roses bewitched by your wine dipped eyes
Heavy lidded and sleep starved weary limbs
Cows ambling with bovine disinterest There’s a certain slant of light in April evenings
