Seven persons held for illegal extraction of minerals in Bandipora

Bandipora police continuing its drive against the illegal mining of minerals today seized  05 Tippers & 02 Tractors for transporting illegally extracted Bajri and sand at different places in  jurisdiction of P/S Bandipora, besides 07 persons were also arrested

A police spokesman said, “Acting on a specific information police team of PS Bandipora  headed by SHO PS Bandipora Insp. Ashiq Hussain under the supervision of DYSP HQRS Bandipora Shri Shafat Mohmad -JKPS seized 05 Tippers & 02 tractors at different places for illegally transporting minerals extracted from various Nallahas/streams.”

“In this connection Case FIR under IPC & MMRD Act was registered in P/S Bandipora and further investigation taken up.The special drive against illegal mining will be carried out by Bandipora police through out the district,” he said.

Bandipora police appeals to public not to indulge in illegal extraction of sand and other minerals from any Nalla/stream, violators will be dealt strictly under law.
