Shopian update: Militant killed, operation on

A militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter between government forces and militants in Dairoo, Keegam area of shopian district in southern Kashmir.

Official sources told, that on specific inputs about the presence of militants joint team of forces including 44 RR launched search operation in the area.

“As the joint team of forces intensified search operation towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forced which was retialated trigerring an encounter,” They said.

“During exchange of fire, one militant has been killed while as one more is believed to be trapped,” They added.
