Six-Day Search Ends as Body of Man Recovered From Jhelum River in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 25: The body of a man who had allegedly jumped into the River Jhelum near Budshah Bridge in Srinagar was retrieved on Monday after an intensive six-day search operation carried out by rescue teams.

Officials said that the SDRF QRT Jhelum Srinagar resumed the search operation on Monday for the sixth consecutive day to trace Javaid Ahmad Dar, a resident of Hamdaniya Colony Bemina, who had allegedly jumped into the river on May 20.

After sustained efforts by rescue personnel, the body was recovered from the river and subsequently taken into custody for completion of medico-legal formalities, officials added.
