SMC to resume IEC activities as per Unlock One

Commissioner SMC Gazanfer Ali today convened meeting in his office here at Karan Nagar, in order to take review of Swachh Bharat Mission progress.

All the components of Swachh Bharat Mission including Solid waste management, IEC (Information, Education, and communication, Capacity building were discussed at length.

Commissioner SMC passed on directions to resume IEC activities gradually as per the Unlock One guide lines (fresh covid 19 Guidlines) and conduct various awareness programs by performing Nukad Naataks, Walkathons, Plogging etc initially with strict adherence to the Covid 19 guidelines.

He stressed on organizing innovative and effective awarness programs so that people are motivated for adoption of waste segregation at house hold level.

These drives have to be result oriented and it should bring in a behavioural change at grass root leveland motivate households to follow various healthy practices in Solid waste management emphasized Gazanfar Ali.

On CTPT(Community Toilet Public Toilet)which are completed and put open to Public use , Mr Ali said that a team of Engineers will conduct a survey and inspect these CTPT’s to see whether they are fully functional and in complete sanitary state before opening them for public use

Secretary SMC Sofi Akbar, ADP SMC Khursheed Makhdoomi, Chief Sanitation Officer Mudasir Hussain Banday, Solid Waste Management Officer Nazir Baba ,Danish Mushtaq Consultant Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Project Management Support Unit Khursheed Malik, , IEC partners and other officials were present in the meeting
