A forest official was injured in the attack by timber smugglers in Bumhama jungle falling under Kamraj Forest Division range Kupwara on Tuesday morning. Taking the advantage of thick forests and sharp edged weapons smugglers were successful in escaping from the place.

The injured official was identified as Ghulam Rasool Mir.

The smugglers were identified as Shabir Dar and Maqbool Dar residents of Bumhama Kupwara.
