30 members of five families rescued by JK Police, SDRF team, locals
At least 15 horses and 250 sheep were killed while five families comprising 30 members were rescued by the Kulgam Police, SDRF team and locals after they were hit by a snow storm on hilly Reasi-Nandimarg route through Pir Panchal ranges.
Official sources told news agency, that 30 members of five families were rescued alive after they were hit by a strong storm besides avalanche on the hilly route. They said that their 15 horses and 250 cattle got killed in the incident.
Tehsildar DH Pora Niyaz Ahmad told that “Our rescue teams reached the spot immediately and successfully rescued the five families comprising 30 members.
The families have been shifted to Zomasthal Bahak near village Nandimarg where they are provided with all logistic support and eatables.” “The rescued people include a women and children,” Neyaz Ahmad said—( KNO )
