Socio-political activists form JKSPAM; promise to work for the welfare of people and peace in J&K

Prominent Socio-political activists recently formed JKSPAM – Jammu and Kashmir Socio-Political Activists Movement, to address the public grievances and to work for the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The group flaunts its diversity and equal representation from all regions, and religious communities across Jammu and Kashmir.

Some of the prominent faces, known for their socio-political stand are going to lead this forum. For the first time activists from across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh will be united and will act cohesively to raise the public grievances and miseries at the appropriate forums.

The forum will be led by Sayim Mustafa, famous J&K cricketer, who is known for his social work and activism among the youth, He’s been elected as the President of JKSPAM.

“Our vision is to unite, rebuild and restore,” said Sayim Mustafa “we have solemnly pledged to work for peace and welfare of Jammu and Kashmir.”

Renowned TV Debater and Social Activist Waqar H Bhatti will also be the part of this group, known for his advocacy of civil and human rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir on various National TV channels.

“We will try to mitigate the public grievances at the relevant forums, and also work for release of political prisoners especially the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, who are languishing in various jails across India.” said Bhatti

Peer Viqar Ul Aslam, Human Rights Activist and TV Debater, has been appointed as the Chief Spokesperson of this movement.

He said “We are complacent in crimes committed against humanity, because we have chosen silence over voicing our genuine concerns for humanity. This group has decided to speak up for all the people and important socio-political issues pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir.”

Other famous socio-political activists who formally joined JKSPAM, at its launch event on Friday at the Kashmir Press Club are Laila Qureshi, Renowned Child Psychologist and Social Worker, Guftar Choudhary, Socio-political activist from Rajouri, Zahid Parvaz, President of Gujar Bakarwal Association, Abid Nabi, star cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir, Tariq Ghani, General Secretary of KCCI, Basheer Ahmed Mir, Socio-political activist from Kangan, Manjot Kohli, renowned social worker, Sheikh Zaffarullah, Socio-political activist from Kistawar, and Manmeet Singh, social activist from Baramulla.
