Soldier killed, another injured in Poonch LoC shelling

An army soldier was killed and another injured on Monday after the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged heavy fire and shelling along the Line of Control in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir.

An official said that the Pakistani army resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling in Balakote sector early morning.

He said that the deceased and injured soldiers belong to Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry regiment.

Earlier, a child was killed after a  shell hit her home in the same sector.
