Sopore police arrests two drug peddlers, recoveres Contraband substances

 Sopore September 16 : Sopore Police arrested two drug Peddlers, and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A statement issued to KNS reads, “A police party from Police Post Fruit Mandi headed by IC PP Sajad Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Furqan Qadir during surprise Naka checking at Chakrodi Khan, Sopore intercepted one load carrier three wheeler bearing registration number JK05D-9395. During checking, Police party was able to recover 9 Kilograms of Poppy Straw from their possession.
The arrested drug peddlers revealed their identities as Tariq Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat and Owais Bashir Shakari son of Bashir Ahmad Shakari both the residents of Shair Colony Sopore
Regarding the incidents case with FIR No. 209/2022 U/S 8/15, 29 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Sopore* and further investigation is in progress.
Community members are once again requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood , statement reads, “Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.”
