Two labourers died, reportedly due to suffocation from a coal gas heater, in Dalipora area of Pulwama in south Kashmir, police said today.
Quoting SSP Pulwama Mohd Aslam Choudhary, reported that four persons working as labourers were found in an unconscious state by the locals inside their rented room at Dalipora village.
All the persons were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital were doctors declared two of them as dead, said the report.
The deceased were identified as Nasir Ahmad Kalas, son of Shah Ali Kalas and Mohd Ashraf Kalas, son of Abdul Haleem of Abhama. It was not immediately known if the duo were related to each other.
The condition of the other two – identified as Mohammad Amin and Riyaz Ahmad – is said to be stable, he said.
“The bodies were taken for post mortem at district hospital and other legal formalities,” said Choudhary.
He said that the duo apparently died of suffocation due to a coal gas heater which they used to warm themselves last night.
“Proceedings under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code were initiated into the incident”, he said.
