Speeding dumper runs into parking space near Ramsoo, five vehicles damaged

A speeding dumper ran into a roadside parking space near Ramsoo area of Ramban district of Jammu on the national highway Wednesday night damaging at least five parked vehicles even as police have launched a manhunt to nab the driver.

The driver identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad, a resident of Tajnihal village of Ramsoo subdivision, overdrove the dumper, bearing number JK-19/ 0164, into the parking space around 8:30 pm last night damaging five vehicles including three private light vehicles two of which had been newly purchased, SHO Ramsoo, Mohammad Annayat told.

He said all the five vehicles including 2 newly purchased Alto cars received extensive damage in the incident while the driver escaped from the spot.

The SHO Ramsoo said a manhunt has been launched to nab him even as an FIR no 08 /2021 under section 279 IPC has been registered against him at Police Station Ramsoo.

Annayat said that no one was hurt in the incident.
