Srinagar has issued an advisory to the public in anticipation of forecasted rainfall.

Advisory from District Administration, Srinagar

Dear Residents,

The District Administration of Srinagar has been apprised by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Srinagar Station regarding the forecast of rainfall from 18th to 20th April. In light of this forecast, especially for those residing along water bodies, we urge you to exercise caution and take necessary precautions to ensure your safety.

Key Points of the Advisory:

  1. Stay Away from Water Bodies: Residents living along the left and right banks of River Jhelum, its tributaries, and other Nallahs are advised to refrain from venturing in and around these water bodies until the weather improves.
  2. Limit Activities: It is advisable to limit outdoor activities near water bodies during the forecasted period of rainfall.
  3. Caution for Specific Groups: Tourists, local Shikara Wallas, Sand Miners, and Boat Crossing Points operators at Dal Lake, River Jhelum, and other water bodies are cautioned against attempting to cross without verifying the condition and situation of these water bodies.
