Authorities on Monday morning closed 86 Km Bandipora-Gurez road following fresh snowfall across Gurez valley in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Keeping in view the skidding of the vehicles and slippery conditions due to fresh snowfall, the Bandipora-Gurez road has been closed as a precautionary measure.
Remarkably, the road was thrown open for one way traffic movement just a few days ago after sternous efforts by the authorities.
On the other hand, the 434-km Srinagar-Leh highway was also closed for vehicular movement on Monday due to fresh snowfall at Zojila Pass. Due to the fresh snowfall at Sonamarg, Mani Marg, Drass and Zojila, the authorities have suspended traffic movement on the highway as a precautionary measure.
