The Srinagar-Leh highway was restored for the movement of light-motor vehicles on Friday, officials said.
The traffic movement was suspended on the highway on Wednesday night after fresh snowfall in Zojila and other areas.
However, light-motor vehicles were allowed to ply on the highway from yesterday afternoon.
Today, heavy motor vehicles were allowed to move from Sonamarg to Drass on the highway.
DSP traffic Ganderbal Liyaqat Qadri told that the decision on movement of vehicles from Drass to Sonamarg will be taken later.
Meanwhile, the divisional administration has said that the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road shall remain closed for vehicular traffic from December 10 in view of a weather advisory issued by the MeT department.
