Srinagar Police arrests drug peddler, contraband recovered

Srinagar January 31:(KNS) Srinagar Police in its endeavours to eradicate drug menace from the city Srinagar, on a specific input about movement of drug peddlers, Police Party of Police Station Police Station Rajbagh at Abdullah Bridge Srinagar, apprehended a person who was carrying a briefcase.

On preliminary questioning,he disclosed his particulars as, Umar Sadiq Dar, S/o Mohd Sadiq Dar
R/o Gopalpora Wathoora Budgam.
On his personal search and search of his briefcase, which he was carrying with him, a banned drug namely *Sposmo Proxivan Plus Capsules* (250 strips, 6000 capsules) was recovered from his possession. 
In this regard case FIR No. 06/2022 u/s 8/21 of NDPS act has been registered in Police Station Rajbagh under relevant sections of law and investigation has been started. 
Public is requested to cooperate with district police to eradicate the menace of drugs from Srinagar district. 
A dedicated Narcotics helpline will be launched soon in this regards for making citizens equal stake holder in this endeavour.
