Srinagar Smart City: Work on 85 projects in full swing, says CEO

Srinagar, Sep 16 : Under the much-hyped Smart City project, the work for 85 projects is in full swing while the authorities said that the completion of the task is expected to be completed by the end of the year and a half.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Srinagar Smart City, Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan while talking exclusively to the news agency—said that the main work for 85 projects like planning and DPR have been completed while the ground has been started and is in full swing.

The work on several roads including Residency road, MA road, Batamaloo-Qamarwari, Dalgate-Gojwara road, Airport road, Nallamar road, Rajbagh road, new road from Barzulla-Natipora is being executed, he said, adding that Shehr-e-Khaas is also being upgraded.

The CEO Smart City further stated that the main work like Planning and DPR for the 85 projects being executed under the Smart City has been completed.

Khan also said that the target has already been set and it is expected that the whole project will be completed in a year and a half.

Smart City Mission for Srinagar was approved by the Government of India in April 2017. As per the extended deadline, the Srinagar Smart City Mission, like other such smart city missions in the country, have to get completed by June, 2023
