Country’s largest public sector bank, the State Bank of India (SBI) has warned customers against cyber criminals targeting them on WhatsApp. In a post on its official Twitter account, the nation’s largest lender has shared details about the scam. Here’s all you need to know.

In the post, SBI warns that cyber criminals are approaching customers via WhatApp calls and messages.

Cybercriminals tell them that sharing these details are mandatory to receive the award money. And that the money will be transferred to this account.

SBI clearly informs its customers that it is not running or organising any lottery scheme or lucky draw for customers. Nor there are any gift offers being given by the bank. It warns that criminals are using these fake offers to trap customers and dupe them of their money.

Customers are advised not to trust these fake callers or forwarded messages on WhatsApp. The fraudsters look for customers to make one mistake that can be exploited by them.

Readers must note that SBI never calls its users to ask for personal details or bank account specific details via email/SMS/Call/WhatsApp calls.( Gadgets )
