Srinagar, Aug 15: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today announced the launch of a state-wide signature campaign to gauge public opinion on the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood.
“The Supreme Court has given us eight weeks, and starting today, we will visit all 90 assembly constituencies to launch a campaign seeking signatures from the people on whether they want statehood or not,” Omar Abdullah said.
The initiative will see teams visiting each constituency to directly engage with citizens and record their stance. Party leaders confirmed that the signatures will be compiled and submitted within the court-mandated timeframe as part of their ongoing legal and political efforts| Kashmir Pen
