Ghagwal, Samba, May 1, 2025:In a significant boost to public healthcare infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., in collaboration with ELFA International donated two state-of-the-art Ultra-Portable HF Digital X-Ray Units with AI-enabled PRORAD Atlas to the Government Accidental Hospital, Ghagwal, in Samba district. This contribution is part of a broader initiative aimed at strengthening diagnostic services in remote and underserved areas of the region.
The donation ceremony was graced by Shri Surjeet Singh Slathia, Hon’ble MLA, Samba Constituency, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar, Director of Health Services, Jammu, along with Professor Indu Kilam, Senior Advisor & Mentor at ELFA International, as Guests of Honor.

Also present at the event were a host of esteemed dignitaries, including Mr. K.S. Bali (JKAS), SDM Ghagwal; Mr. Roopesh Ajit Mirzi, Plant Head, Sun Pharma; Dr. Harbaksh Singh, CMO Jammu; Mr. Nawab Mehran Khan, CEO, ELFA International; Mr. Kamlesh Devikar, HR Head, Sun Pharma; Dr. Jyoti Jolly, STO Jammu; and Ms. Priyanka Talwar, CSR Executive, Sun Pharma
The event was meticulously coordinated and organized by Dr. Richa Arora, Block Medical Officer, Nud, Samba.
In his presidential remarks, Shri Slathia applauded the continuous efforts of Sun Pharma and ELFA International in uplifting healthcare services in Jammu & Kashmir, particularly in the Samba district. He assured full support for such collaborative efforts and emphasized the importance of accessible diagnostic facilities for rural communities.
Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar, Director of Health Services, Jammu, highlighted the vital role of public-private partnerships in transforming healthcare delivery. “Initiatives like these not only fill critical infrastructure gaps but also serve as a model for future collaborations in the healthcare sector,” he noted.
Remotely, Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Chandrashekhar Gowda, Associate Vice President (AVP) of Sun Pharma, stated:

The event also marked a milestone in ELFA International’s ongoing partnership with the Government of Jammu & Kashmir’s under the TB Mukht Bharat Abhiyan. ELFA has been at the forefront of organizing multiple awareness and screening campaigns across the region, and the current donation is a critical component of their larger commitment to eradicating tuberculosis and enhancing diagnostic accessibility.
The newly donated X-Ray units, equipped with AI-powered PRORAD Atlas software, are capable of delivering high-resolution digital images in real-time, significantly improving the speed and accuracy of diagnoses, especially in accident and emergency care
The gathering concluded with a vote of thanks and a renewed pledge by all stakeholders to work collaboratively for a healthier and TB-free Jammu & Kashmir.
