Srinagar, Dec 30: In a significant political development, PC President Sajad Lone and Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari held a private meeting at an undisclosed location in Srinagar.
Notably, the meeting occurred without aides or security, remaining a one-on-one interaction, gaining importance in light of the impending parliamentary elections.
Sources revealed that previously estranged leaders Sajad Lone and Altaf Bukhari came face to face after a prolonged period. They expressed a mutual willingness to temporarily set aside differences, prioritizing a collective effort against a common adversary affecting the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Despite their prolonged estrangement, both leaders strongly advocate uniting against actions detrimental to the region, including killings, unjust imprisonments, and the imposition of oppressive laws on innocent Kashmiris.
Their agreement extends to preventing the common enemy from gaining ground through the division of votes, as they feel accountable to the people of J&K. Additionally, discussions involved the urgent need to reform Kashmiri politics.
The leaders intend to rally other politicians to uncover inconsistent behaviors and expose those who exploit sentiments by day while engaging with agencies behind closed doors.
This unexpected alliance carries the potential to profoundly influence the upcoming electoral landscape, shaping potential outcomes significantly.
