A suspicious object was detected and destroyed in North Kashmir’s Sopore area on Saturday.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the object was found near Hygam along Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway. “A joint team of Army, CRPF, and Police reached the spot and cordoned off the area. A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called in to examine the object.

Traffic movement and civilian access were restricted as a precautionary measure,” the official said, adding, “The BDS after examining the object destroyed it.”—(KNO)
