Pulwama, Oct 3, 2017, Kashmir Pen: A special Drive for unemployed youth especially SC/ST candidates under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) of Kashmir was started on the occasion of ‘Gandhi Jayanti’ at PMTC, KVIC, Pampore. Around 200 applications were received from various beneficiaries especially women folk on the special drive launched on the occasion of “Bapu’s Jayanti” . Besides, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Plantation drive and Painting Competition among school children was also held at PMTC, KVIC, Pampore.
In the beginning, a tribute was paid to FATHER OF NATION by Shri Anil Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director, Incharge Kashmir Province, Employees, Secretaries of Khadi Institutions, Trainees, School Children and many others.
During the special drive under PMEGP Shri Anil Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director, Incharge Kashmir Province provided information to the beneficiaries who intend to start their own units under PMEGP.
Anil who is also Principal, PMTC, Pampore said that today is Gandhi Jayanti is one of the important national events of India celebrated every year on 2nd of October, a birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
He said that by celebrating the greatness of the Mahatma, we pledge to adopt his way of life and principles of empathy, humbleness, honesty and sincerity.
Pertinently, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a campaign that was officially launched on 2 October in the year 2014 by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today completed its 3 years.
Cleanliness drives under ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ marked the celebrations of birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi Ji at PMTC, KVIC, Pampore.
Anil said that On the occasion of the 148th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the whole nation is paying tribute to the Father of the Nation and organising cleanliness drives to promote ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ to make people aware about the advantages of cleanliness. Hygiene was extremely dear to the Mahatma and he had exhorted everyone to maintain clean surroundings.
Principal and Employees today pledged to keep its campus and neighborhood clean, as a part of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ initiative of the Government of India.
The Principal asked asked the officers, staff, and students present to take a pledge to keep the Training Centre its neighbourhood and the neighbourhood of their residence clean.
Principal and officials then initiated the cleaning campaign of the campus area with brooms and by removing the weeds.
Further, he said that a plantation drive was held at KVIC, Pampore with full enthusiasm. During the drive trainees planted saplings in the campus.
Saplings were implanted by the students as well as the Principal, Employees and Secretaries of Various Khadi Intuitions of Kashmir Valley.
In the end cash prize and trophies were distributed among the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders.
