Tangmarg, famous for its natural beauty and warm hospitality, is one of the busiest tourist destinations in Kashmir. The people associated with tourist agencies are known for their honesty and kindness. This is the region of Kashmir where dedicated administration is needed to handle different activities. There are many officers who have served the region with pure dedication, but among many administrators, Syed Eyad Qadri (Tehsildar Kunzar) stands tall and has earned a unique place in the hearts of the people.
Syed Eyad Qadri was born in Sheikhpora, a small village four kilometers away from Tehsil Kunzar. After successfully qualifying for the J&K Administrative Service (JKAS) in the 2019 batch, he migrated to Bemina, Srinagar. He was first appointed as the Block Development Officer for Tehsil Boniyar, Baramulla. He was then transferred to Karnah as Tehsildar. Presently, he is serving as Tehsildar Kunzar and has additional charges of Tangmarg Tehsil too. As soon as he took charge as Tehsildar Kunzar, he prioritized resolving the long-pending issues of the people.
Tangmarg is a place in Kashmir where government and private events are often held. Syed Eyad Qadri ensures that these events run smoothly. Besides these events, Syed Eyad Qadri is keenly watching and observing the public protests regarding essential services like water, roads, and electricity. Maintaining law and order without causing any damage is his first priority. His honesty and dedication have made him one of the most well-known and respected personalities in the Tangmarg area.
Recently, the “Khelo India” winter sports festival was held in Gulmarg, the snow capital of Kashmir. Athletes and tourists came from all over the world to participate in and witness this great festival. Syed Qadri played a huge role in ensuring safety for the tourists and athletes. Besides being the head of the revenue department of Kunzar and Tangmarg Tehsil, he actively manages and organizes major events with his absolute dedication.
Syed Eyad Qadri is a household name in the Gulmarg area because of his humility and commitment to public service. His personality is not only confined to the revenue department; he often participates in social work and remains accessible to the people of Gulmarg. People from Tangmarg admire him not just for his dedication and honesty, but also for his humble attitude and greatness.
Since he joined the Tehsil as head, he has inspired the youth of the area, who are following in the footsteps of this great personality; in other words, he has become a role model for many young people. He has solved long-pending demands of villages such as Kralpora, Yaal, Chichilora, and Lolpora, where he provided land for large playgrounds. He is keenly observing and recognizing places where sports facilities are much needed. Besides his positive approach to work, he is also famous for his appearance and dressing style. He looks absolutely gorgeous whenever he attends any event, and his striking personality leaves a positive impact.
Syed Eyad Qadri is a true administrator. His contributions in the area are beyond our expectations. Under his leadership, many local land disputes among the people have been resolved, school buildings have been constructed, playgrounds have been made, water canals have been cleaned, and land records have been managed. Officers under him have started working swiftly, and illegal mining in the area has been stopped.
Syed Eyad Qadri will remain in the golden books when it comes to change in the Gulmarg area. He is a symbol of love, honesty, and progress. He uplifts the downtrodden by providing them with a unique space. He never seems to be tired or disinterested. His contributions result in progress and improvement in the lives of the people. Recently, I was surprised by his actions, as I belong to a small village where there is no suitable environment for education in terms of facilities. We have only one middle school in the village with three rooms. One room is for office purposes, and the other two rooms are divided by plywood to accommodate classes. Teaching students in such conditions is a headache for teachers. Even students feel suffocated in the small rooms without ventilation. There are no facilities for lighting, making it very difficult for students to read inside the dark classrooms. When Syed Eyad Qadri witnessed the miserable conditions of this specific school, he swiftly removed illegal encroachments and provided suitable land for a new school to be constructed. Furthermore, he ensured that the education department would provide assistance in the future.
Tangmarg is home to many administrators from different departments, but Syed Eyad Qadri stands tall as he has successfully built a respected image in the area. He is a fearless and dedicated officer who never hesitates to make bold decisions for uplifting society. He is punctual, responsible, and strong in work ethics. He is very warm and soft-hearted, but his work speaks volumes. In recognition of his dedication to society, he was honored by the Baramulla district administration on Independence Day 2024. His unwavering support, help, and encouragement to the needy make him an example of pure dedication and honesty.
As time passes, Syed Eyad Qadri is becoming a role model to follow. He treats people like his own son, brother, and friend. He is a symbol of absolute kindness and warmth. He possesses many different qualities. One of his unique qualities is that he smiles and warmly responds to the requests of elderly people. He never puts the needy on a waiting list. Although he holds a higher administrative position, he never misuses his power. He nurtures the administrative value system. He remains very positive and committed to serving humanity to the best of his ability. As someone from that area, I have never seen an administrator like him. His honesty, dedication, and work ethics have won my heart. My words fall short when describing his towering personality. I wish him a long life filled with happiness so that he may continue to serve humanity with the same enthusiasm and sincerity.
