TAAI J&K Chapter conducts its first bi-monthly meeting in Srinagar

The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) Jammu and Kashmir Chapter conducted its first bi-monthly meeting at Namrose Resorts and Spa in Srinagar on October 17, 2022.

Jyoti Mayal, TAAI National President, was also present at the meeting. Mayal addressed some of the concerns raised by the chapter members. She assured her full support to the members and said that she will take up the issues that the Jammu and Kashmir tourism industry is currently facing with the government of India, MoT. She also suggested some initiatives which TAAI J&K should adopt for the betterment of the Chapter members.

The newly elected office bearers, Ather Yameen Narwari, Chairman, TAAI JK Chapter, Sameer Baktoo, Hon. Secretary, and Irshad Irshad Hazari, Hon. Treasurer welcomed the dignitaries, Minga Sherpa, Managing Director, JKTDC, Deeba Khalid Peer, Dy Director Tourism, Publicity and Ilyas Ahmad, Dy Director Tourism,

Nasir Shah, the Outgoing Chairman, discussed the problems faced by the members due to the surge in domestic travel in Jammu and Kashmir as it has witnessed record footfall of 1.62 crore tourists since January 2022, the highest in 75 years of Independence. He mentioned the manpower shortage faced by the industry, particularly in trained guides and hospitality personnel.
