Teacher missing from Census duty found dead

Jammu 11 Jun : Government teacher, who had been reported missing while on Census duty, was found dead in the Ranbir Canal near Bathra area today. The deceased has been identified as Vikram Chand Sharma son of Sham Pal of Mawa Karora, who was posted at MS Gurha Jagir. Officials said Sharma went missing on June 5.

According to them, he had left home that morning on his motorcycle to perform his assigned Census duties in the Bomal area after dropping his wife, Shobha Rani, at her school. They said when he did not return and could not be reached, his wife filed a missing report at the Akhnoor Police Station. Officials said following an extensive search operation, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered his body from the Ranbir Canal near Bathra. 

While the body has been shifted for a post-mortem examination, an investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding his death. news headings
