A 15-year-old boy died after drowning in a stream in his native village in Jhullas sector in J&K’s Poonch district on Friday afternoon.

News agency reported that Prabh Dayal son of Ram Sharma had gone to nearby Khari nalla for bathing.
With the teen not returning, the people there presumed him to have drowned, forcing them to launch efforts to search him out.
Few hours into the search led to the retrieval of the teenager in an unconscious condition, following which he was taken to a District Hospital Poonch, however the doctors declared the boy as brought dead on arrival.
A police official confirming the incident to said that the body has been handed over to the family for last rites on conduct of necessary medico-legal formalities. ( GNS )
