Srinagar, Dec 13 (KNC): Reiterating the administration’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and its support network, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday distributed appointment letters to members of terror-affected families at a function held at Lok Bhavan Auditorium, Srinagar.
Addressing the gathering, the LG Sinha as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC said the government stands firmly with families that have suffered due to terrorism and is committed to ensuring justice, rehabilitation and a dignified life for them. As per news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC), LG Sinha said the initiative to provide government jobs to terror victims’ families was launched after hearing their long-pending grievances and stories of loss and neglect.
He informed that appointment letters were handed over to 39 families from the Kashmir division on Saturday, while 41 such families had earlier received jobs in Jammu. Additionally, nine families affected by the recent Nowgam blast were provided appointments on Friday. “So far this year, over 200 members from terror-affected families have been given government employment,” the LG said.
The Lieutenant Governor said that for decades, genuine victims of terrorism were ignored, while those linked to the terror ecosystem benefitted unfairly. “This injustice is being corrected. Properties illegally taken from victims’ families will be restored, and even cases without FIRs will be reviewed to ensure no deserving family is denied justice,” he said.
Stressing that the administration will show no mercy to supporters or sympathisers of terrorism, LG Sinha said decisive action has already been taken against elements aiding terror activities, including the termination of government employees found linked to the terror network. “We are dismantling the terror ecosystem completely. Anyone who supports or glorifies terrorism will face strict punishment,” he asserted.
The programme was attended by senior civil and police officials and families of terror victims. Concluding the event, the Lieutenant Governor said the initiative reflects the government’s resolve to move from assurances to action. “This is not charity; it is our tribute to the sacrifice of innocent lives lost to terrorism,” he said.
