Srinagar, Aug.16, 23 , Theatre workshop for students under J&K, Academy of Art,Culture & Languages programme begins at Tagore Hall, Srinagar today. On the occasion renowned theatre Actor/ Director M.K.Raina said “ it is a good initiative to do theatre with children .The use of drama and art in education accelerates personality development in students and it is as important as sports and medicine. He further said, “Theatre broadens the vision of a student and it has an ample role in personality development .Theatre in education has now come as a subject in other parts of the country and can be taken up to the higher classes”

Renwoned Actor/Director and president Kalidas Theatre Dr. Ayash Arif said “Theatre workshop for students is a new effort . Till late eighties Theatre in Kashmir was at its peak and after that due to turmoil it almost rendered stagnant and some of the artists associated with theatre left the valley and some lost interest, but now we want to train our young children by roping them into these workshops , which is important because there is a great talent available in our valley and through these programmes they can get right direction to develop their personality.”

Among other speakers who spoke on the occasion were M. Amin Bhat, Noted writer & President J&K Adbi Markaz Kamraz , Gulzar Ganai Coordinator NSD.TIE Centre Srinagar, Writer Fayaz Dilbar,Nisar Naseem, Kashmiri playwright in presence of a large audience including prominent theatre luminaries.
