Police in Budgam have solved a theft case by arresting an accused involved in the commission of crime. Stolen property has also been recovered from his possession.
A Spokesperson said that Police Station Khansahib received a complaint from Ab Majeed Kumar son of Ab Gani Kumar resident of Checksara Khanshaib to the effect that during the intervening night of 6-7/08/2024, some unknown persons entered into his shop situated at Check Shaira and have stolen some items and cash.
“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 142/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Khanshaib and the investigation was initiated”, he said.
The spokesperson said, “During the course of investigation, many suspects were questioned and during questioning, one person identified as Farooq Ahmed Ganie @Dil Jaley son of Gh Ahmad Ganaie resident of Katchpuran admitted his involvement in the commission of crime. On his disclosure, stolen items, cash were recovered from his possession. Subsequently, he has been arrested and shifted to police station.”
Further investigation is going on, he said.
