It is pertinent to mention that the victim Sumaiya, daughter of Akbar Yattoo was married last month and had come to see her parents and take her property along with her.

“We were sleeping in the front room of our house and when we wake up in the morning, we found locks broken and the things were scattered”, Sumaiya said.

The family reported the matter to police which has registered a case under relevant sections of the law and started an investigation.

They have appealed to people in nearby surroundings, if they found anyone selling gold in nearby markets, please inform the family as soon as possible.
