JAMMU, Jun 8: Three mortar shells were found at two different places along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, officials said.

While two mortar shells were noticed in Jhanghar forest area, another was found abandoned at a secluded location in Makri village of Nowshera sector this morning, the officials said.

They said the bomb disposal squad of army defused all the three mortar shells safely. In another incident, police recovered an aeroplane-shaped balloon with PIA (Pakistan International Airlines) marking at Dhaki Nala near the International Border in Samba district on Monday.

The white and green-coloured balloon was noticed by villagers and was later seized by a team of THE local police station, the officials said.

Such balloons frequently drift into Indian territory from across the border and are regularly recovered from villages located along the border belt in Jammu and Kashmir.
