Time, of which Almighty Allah solemnly vows, in surah “Asr” has an immense importance in our lives. One who recognises it and then channelise his skills, efficiency, his reason in a better way can attain any goal in life with the mercy and blessings of Almighty Allah. One of the crucial hindrance in present times in our society is wastage of time either by remaining idle or using it unnecessarily on things which can not yield us productively. Time management can be defined as “the process of planning and exercising conscious control over the amount of time allocated to the various activities in one’s life.” It is a skill that can be acquired through training and practice. In order to manage our time effectively, we must know how we spend our time for a period. Record how much time we spend on each activity during a week or in a trial period, then review what we have recorded. Identify the important tasks and the ones that do not serve any real purpose. Useless activities can be eliminated, and important tasks can be rearranged in a more efficient schedule.
Time plays the most important role in our life. It is the most wonderful and practical thing. It has no beginning and no end. All things are born on time, grown on time and die on time. We cannot have command on time, nor can we analyze and criticize it. But it is very crucial that we understand the value of time and manage it effectively; otherwise, time can create an enormous impact on our life. We need to comprehend and regard the value of time by not wasting it. Time is the only dimension in which we all live our lives, and it affects everything that we do, from a flower’s growing cycle to the destruction of empires. There are many things that we can do with our time: We can spend it on leisure activities, such as sleeping, watching TV, reading or going for a walk; on work or study; on raising a family; or on helping others. No matter what we choose to do, it is important that we manage our time to perform certain tasks and make the most of it. We cannot tell the time to wait for our instructions; thus, we must use time in the most efficient way possible to get things done. We have a limited amount of time on this earth, and we need to spend it wisely if we want to accomplish our goals and dreams. Time does not wait for anyone. Whether you like it or not, the fact is time will never stop. It will keep going on. This is an old belief and a fact of life, and it still holds true.
Time gives you only one chance, and you have to make the best of it. A moment lost is lost forever. We cannot go back and reverse time. Nothing is independent of time and change. Life is short, and tasks to accomplish are vast and challenging. We should realize this fact and not waste any minute. Every second and every opportunity should be used efficiently and meaningfully. Think about this fact of our lives that, how much time we spent thinking about money, at work making more money, and planning what you will do with the money you are making and will make? and the answer is a lot of time. Now, how much time did we spend not working and earning, not planning for present or future financial transactions or investments, but just simply enjoying life and investing in your mental/spiritual well-being and/or relationships? In contrast, I would wager not near enough. There is a vast gap between the contention that I have very much time to change my life and the practical use of each and every second of time to transform or change the present and future course of my life. Time is invaluable, we cannot put a value on time. It is our most priceless resource. In direct contrast, money is solely defined by a (numerical/fiscal) value in the form of a proverbial price tag. You literally cannot put a price on time. Time is finite, to put it simply it can be said we can’t make or create more time.
The thing is when you think about it, it’s a bit ironic because you can use your time to make more money, but you can never turn around and use that money to buy more time. There will always be more money out there to earn, but as for time, it runs out for us all eventually. Money is dependent on time, not vice versa. May be you agree with me that, we need time to spend our money. I think about those who are considered rich: It would take them two lifetimes (or more) to spend their riches, but we are all operating on an equal playing field when it comes to time. Their money cannot buy them any more time than mine can or yours. Money can indeed buy you a lot of nice, fun things, but it cannot buy you more time. Having said all of this, I am in no way diminishing the need to have money, nor the importance of it for improving our quality of life and comfort. I just think there is a real danger in allowing it to have too much power, so much that we lose the balance of it with time in our lives. Ideally, we will find a healthy balance between the two, where we can all have enough money without sacrificing the priceless gift of time in the equation.
Conclusion: We can not ignore the prime importance of time, we have taken birth on fixed time and will leave this world on time fixed by Almighty Allah. What we have to do in this world to safeguard ourselves in world hereafter depends upon productive utilization of time, every second matters and we all have witnessed it at several instances which we have faced. Then we say, if this would not have happened the results would be otherwise, means something is done in an effective and proper way that the productive results depict otherwise that would not be the results. Whether you be the student, the farmer, the merchant, the employee, the common man we must try to examine our day-to-day activities and then weigh them in accordance with time, what we lost and what we have achieved. Can we turn the wheel of time back and change the results of our activities.
