Tousif Raza , a scholar of English language with a profound command over Urdu, Kashmiri, and Farsi, is a true polymath. His journey through the lanes of education, from humble beginnings to becoming an eminent poet, writer, and critic, is a testament to his dedication and passion for literature. Born and raised in the picturesque district of Baramulla, Tousif’s roots are deeply embedded in the heart of Kashmir. In the quaint village of Hariwatnoo Kralpora Tangmarg, he began his educational voyage, taking his initial steps towards enlightenment at the village Government school. As he continued to tread the path of knowledge, he moved on to the middle school in Hariwatnoo and then ventured into the realm of higher education at Chandilora, specializing in the medical stream. However, it was literature that cast its spell on the young scholar’s heart.

Despite pursuing a medical education, the allure of the written word proved too strong to resist. Later, he honed his linguistic prowess at the prestigious University of Kashmir, gaining a deeper understanding of the complexities of language and communication. Tousif Raza affinity for language was not confined to mere academic pursuits. He sought to embrace the essence of literature in all its facets. To complement his linguistic finesse, he also pursued a diploma in journalism from IGNOU, embracing the art of articulating thoughts and opinions with precision and eloquence. While his scholarly journey was impressive, Tousif’s creative spirit found its ultimate expression in poetry. The verses that flowed from his pen painted vivid pictures of love, nature, and the mystic quest for self-discovery. With a profound appreciation for Kashmiri culture and literature, he became a torchbearer of his region’s literary heritage. Shafi Khan, the maestro of verse, who took him under his wing and unraveled the intricacies of Urooz techniques.
