Bandipora, Oct 3: Vehicular traffic will remain completely suspended on the Wallur Vantage road and adjoining routes in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district for nine hours tomorrow in view of the ‘Wallur Ultra Marathon-3.0’, officials said on Saturday.
According to an advisory issued by the Traffic Police Office Rural Kashmir, the marathon will commence at 5 am from BSF Headquarters Maddar and traverse through NHPC Pethkote, Chewa, Kangrichowk, and the Wallur Vantage road before returning to Chewa.
“During the conduct of Wallur Ultra Marathon-3.0… the movement of vehicular traffic on said road shall remain completely suspended from 05:00 hours to 1400 hours,” the advisory stated.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Rural Kashmir, Liaqat Ali, advised motorists to avoid travel along the designated route during the event hours. To facilitate public movement, alternative routes have been announced.
Traffic from Gurez and Bandipora town towards Srinagar, including from the local bus stand, will be diverted via the Bandipora-Sopore road, operating on a vice-versa basis, officials said.
Furthermore, Bandipora-Gurez bound traffic from Srinagar will be allowed via Narbal, Pattan, and Sopore. Similarly, traffic originating from Ganderbal towards Bandipora will be rerouted via Sumbal, Naidkhai, and Sopore.
The advisory was issued in the public interest for information and strict compliance, police added.
