The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Jammu & Kashmir Chapter, fully supports the implementation of a complete liquor ban in Jammu & Kashmir. We believe that such a prohibition aligns with the cultural and social ethos of our region and will positively impact both the local population and visiting tourists.

Our stance is reinforced by the example of Gujarat, a state that has thrived as a dry state. In the fiscal year 2023-24, Gujarat witnessed a 24% increase in tourism, welcoming 18.59 crore tourists, including 23.43 lakh foreign visitors. This growth demonstrates that tourism can flourish without the availability of alcohol.

TAAI is dedicated to safeguarding the interests of our members and ensuring their voices are heard at all levels. We do not associate ourselves with statements issued by any political leader or party. Our focus remains on promoting responsible tourism that respects the cultural values and social norms of Jammu & Kashmir.

We are committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders and the government to foster a tourism environment that reflects the unique heritage of our region while ensuring the well-being of both residents and visitors.
