The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) hosted its 67th Convention in the capital city of Sri Lanka, Colombo on July 6-9, in Collaboration with Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) and Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) & kicked off with a grand opening on 6th July at the BMICH , under the patronage of President Ranil Wickramasinghe, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest , and Harin Fernando, Minister of Tourism , as the guest of Honor.
Ather Yameen Narwari – Chairman- TAAI JKC said a delegation from TAAI – Jammu & Kashmir Chapter had participated in the convention lead by Hon. Treasurer – Irshad Hazari. The delegation had members from Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh regions and senior founder members of TAAI – JKC Chapter, Akram Siah, Nasir Shah & Showkat Pakhtoon besides the youngest from Kashmir & Jammu region participated. The most senior member of J&K Travel Trade & a Prominent Tour Operator, AMRIK SINGH, from Jammu, was also part of the TAAI delegation.
Sameer Baktoo Hon. Secretary – TAAI J&K Chapter said that the TAAI – JKC delegation presented a Kashmiri Shwal to the President- TAAI Ms. Jyoti Mayal on behalf of the TAAI – Jammu & Kashmir Chapter on the occasion.
Sameer Baktoo Said Over 500 delegates, including tourism and hospitality industry experts, tour operators and other key stakeholders from India and Sri Lanka participated in the grand convention that kicked off on July 6. The three-day convention, which was held in Colombo as part of the 67th convention of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), concluded on Saturday with a dazzling display of fireworks, gala dinner and music and dance performances.
The theme of the TAAI convention was ‘Transcending Borders, Transforming Lives’. Ms. Jyoti Mayal in her address at the closing day dinner reception hosted at a beach hotel just out of Colombo city, called the convention a “resounding success”. She thanked the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) and the Sri Lankan Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO), for their support in organising the convention.
