The artistic fraternity of Kashmir mourns the untimely demise of Rajinder Tickoo, an actor par excellence whose presence illuminated both stage and screen. His sudden departure has left a void that will be difficult to fill.

Mushtaq Bala

(Chairman, Kashmir Film Society)

“Rajinder ji was an actor of rare brilliance who brought depth, dignity and dynamism to every role he portrayed. He had the remarkable ability to light up the stage and infuse life and energy into the screen. With his passing, we have lost not only a gifted performer but a thinking actor — a creative mind who understood the soul of his craft. It is indeed a big loss for the entire film and theatre fraternity. I am deeply saddened by this irreparable loss. My heartfelt condolences to his family. May his noble soul rest in eternal peace.”

Dr. Ayash Arif

“Rajinder Tickoo’s contribution to theatre and performing arts will always be remembered with admiration. His discipline, artistic sensitivity, and commitment to culture made him stand apart. His sudden demise is profoundly painful. He leaves behind a legacy of meaningful performances and an enduring inspiration for young artists.”

Mushtaq Ali Ahmad Khan

“Rajinder sahab was not merely an actor but a custodian of artistic values. He carried forward the spirit of classical theatre with grace and conviction. His loss is a personal sorrow and a collective tragedy for our cultural community.”

Zamir Ashie

“The news of Rajinder Tickoo’s passing has deeply shaken us. He represented the golden era of theatre — cultured, committed, and intellectually rooted. His absence will be felt in every rehearsal hall and on every stage where art is practiced with sincerity.”

M. Amin Bhat

(President, Adbi Markaz Kamraz)

“Rajinder Tickoo was a refined human being and a distinguished artist. His life was dedicated to nurturing culture and preserving artistic integrity. His sudden demise is shocking and heartbreaking. The literary and cultural circles of Kashmir share this grief with his family.”

Arshad Mushtaq

“Rajinder ji was an actor par excellence who lit up the stage and infused energy on the screen. We have lost a thinking actor and performer. Deeply saddened by his passing. May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to the family.”

Kusum Tickoo

“I’m feeling numb and exhausted, losing fraternity friends one by one — and this process does not feel natural. We were pushed into this painful phase when our creative spaces were diminished. The closing of Doordarshan Kendras stripped many of us of our artistic identities, pushing several into distress. Some resisted, some slipped into despair… and now we face another unnatural loss of a creative mind. Rest in peace, my friend Rajinder Tickoo. Om Shanti.”
