Kashmiri have eaten suspicious prohibited rotten meat under conspiracy & Makhdoom Sahib shall seek pardon for them being unintentional consumers
In a historic and spiritually charged gathering at the revered Tujar Sharief shrine, Dr. Khwaja Farooq Renzushah addressed an unprecedented congregation of devotees at the birthplace of Kashmir’s great saints — Hazrat Hamza Makhdoom Raina, Hazrat Baba Ali Raina, Hazrat Mariyum Raina, and Hazrat Usman Raina.
Highlighting the shrine’s profound legacy, Dr. Renzushah said, “It was here that the Renaissance, spiritual unity, and knowledge in Kashmir were born.” He reminded devotees that Hazrat Baba Ali Raina, brother of Hazrat Hamza Makhdoom, along with Baba Dawood Khaki, had served as Sajjadah Nashins at the holy shrine of Hazrat Abu Hanifa for several years. He further noted that Hazrat Makhdoom Hamza Raina spent his childhood in the valleys of Yamnarzallo and Hakwari in Tujar Sharief.
Recalling the difficult years of turmoil, Dr. Renzushah said the shrine remained locked for 21 years after 1990. “Despite violent attacks from radical forces, in 2011, with the support of Peer Yaseen Sahib of Shalimar, Ghulam Mohammad Shah of Tujar, Jenab Jeelani Makhdoomi of Koh-e-Maraan, and Mohammad Sultan Makhdoomi of Tujar Sharief, we reopened the shrine and laid the foundation of the present structure.” He also emphasized his role in the construction and restoration of several other Sufi shrines across Kashmir, including those of Hazrat Bulbulshah, Sheikh-ul-Aalam’s Khanqah Panah, Shamas Faqeer, and Samad Mir.
On his appeal, thousands of devotees — men and women — observed Tauba (repentance) at the shrine, collectively seeking forgiveness for unknowingly consuming suspicious or prohibited meat in recent times. “It seems that the impact of such consumption is visible in our society today — when even a sister can commit the unthinkable act of killing her own sister. Only the prayers of Awliya can ensure pardon,” he said.
Dr. Renzushah also reminded the gathering of Kashmir’s spiritual and cultural resilience. He narrated how, during the era of Hazrat Bulbulshah, with his blessings, Kashmir was saved by Hazrat Sultan Sader-ud-Deen Renchenshah and Sultana Kota Rani — along with Begum Mara Khuram Kunand — from the Mongol onslaught of Dalcha Zulqader Khan after the Khunjareeb Pass Renaissance resolution.
He concluded by asserting that the Raina dynasty’s ancestors have a proud history of protecting Kashmir from terror, and that Tujar Sharief continues to be regarded as an eternal abode of Renaissance, unity, love, and spiritual strength — the guiding force to preserve Kashmir’s great civilization.
