Twitter has once again courted controversy with a micro-blogging platform displaying a distorted map of India showing Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as a separate country.
The map that appears on the career section of the micro-blogging platform shows Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as separate countries.
However, this is not the first time that Twitter has shown a distorted map of India. The Center had written to the CEO of Twitter last year expressing its strong disapproval of the misrepresentation of the map of India when Twitter showed the geographical location of Leh in Jammu and Kashmir, People’s Republic of China.
In a warning, the government said that any attempt by Twitter to disrespect India’s “sovereignty and integrity is completely unacceptable”.
