Two drug peddlers held in Baramulla and Kulgam

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla & Kulgam districts and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

A Police spokesperson said, “On routine patrolling at Chakloo Baramulla, Police under the supervision of Peerzada Aijaz Ahmad, Offg. DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by DySP Prob Naveed Ahmad Qazi, SHO PS Baramulla noticed a person wandering who was also carrying a handbag who upon seeing the police party tried to flee from the spot however alert party apprehended him tactfully.”

“During his personal search and of the handbag 36 bottles of Corex was recovered from his possession who was identified as Umar Yousuf Lone S/O Mohd Yousuf Lone R/O Nadihal Rafiabad, District Baramulla and was taken into custody immediately”, he said.                                                                                                                                   

Similarly In Kulgam, Based on specific input generated from credible sources regarding drug peddling in the jurisdiction of Police Post Frisal. Promptly a special team led by IC PP Frisal was constituted who established a specific checkpoint at Peerbal, Frisal and during checking one person namely Junaid Khursheed War resident of Momin, Bijebhara roaming in suspicious condition was signalled to stop. But after noticing police party he tried to flee from the spot. He was chased and apprehended tactfully. 

“During search, 9 strips containing 135 Tablets of Alprazolam Anxit and 15 Bottles of Codeine phosphate like contraband substances were recovered from his possession.”

 In this connection, Case with FIR No. 20/2023 U/S 8/21 of NDPS Act stands registered in the Police Station Yaripora and Police Station Baramulla.
