Two girls killed, another person injured in Handwara-Bangus road accident

Two girls were killed and their family members injured after the vehicle they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge on Handwara-Bangus road, Officials said Monday.

They said that the private car in which three persons were on board turned turtle on Handwara-Bangus road and fell into a deep gorge. “A girl Saba Shafi, daughter of Mohammad Shafi Baba of Pantha Chowk Srinagar was killed on the spot and two others on board who were identified as Aliza and Nooran Ahmad Baba sustained injuries,” they told news agency– Kashmir News Corner (KNC)

The injured duo was immediately taken to NTPHC Qalamabad from where the doctors referred them to GMC Handwara for preferential treatment. “However soon after admission, Aliza also succumbed to her injuries while Nooran Ahmad is undergoing treatment for his injuries,” the officials said.

They said that the ill-fated car was on a picnic trip and the trio are believed to be siblings. However, final confirmation was still-awaited.
