SRINAGAR 09 Jun : Two minor children died after slipping and falling into the Baba irrigation canal at Goripora village in the Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Aishiya (4), daughter of Mohammad Amin Lone, and Mohammad Imran (6), son of Mohammad Iqbal Lone, both residents of Goripora, Kangan.
According to local sources, the children accidentally slipped and fell into the canal, leading to their death.
Following the incident, residents rushed to the spot and launched efforts to retrieve the children from the water channel. The bodies were later recovered and shifted from the site.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the village, with residents expressing grief over the tragic loss.
Further proceedings are being carried out by the concerned authorities.
