Police today arrested two Patwaris in connection with missing of land records and encroachments on the Government land in which series of raids were conducted in Jammu and Samba districts recently and three Revenue officials were arrested.

SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli told that the Patwaris were arrested in connection with case FIR No. 182/2021 registered under Sections 509/477/120-B/380 IPC at Channi Himmat Police Station.

Kohli identified the arrested Patwaris as Bashir Ahmed son of Noor Ali, a resident of Panjgrain, presently putting up at Sarwal and posted at Patwar Halqa Deeli in Bishnah tehsil of Jammu district and Sushil Kumar Sharma son of Prabh Dayal Sharma of village Payan in Akhnoor tehsil, posted at Patwar Halqa Gharota in Bhalwal tehsil.

With these two arrests, total number of arrests in the case have reached five.

It may be mentioned here that police and Revenue authorities during joint raids had recovered large quantity of official record from houses and other locations of retired and serving Revenue officials. ( DE )
