Two SKUAST-K Scientists Selected for Erasmus+ Fellowship in Italy

Two scientists from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir have been selected for the Erasmus+ Fellowship at the University of Padova, Italy.

Under the fellowship, students from SKUAST-K’s Plant Biotechnology Division will undergo advanced training in the fields of plant proteomics and metabolomics.

The program is a joint student and staff mobility between SKUAST-K and the University of Padova, Italy under the Erasmus+ programme. Ammarah Hami and Madhiya Manzoor, who are currently pursuing PhD Biotechnology at the Department of Plant Biotechnology, Shalimar, will spend six months at the university. Padova, Italy.

Dr. Sajjad Majeed Zargar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Biotechnology is the coordinator of the Erasmus+ program under which faculty and students can participate in the University of Padova, Italy for advanced capacity building in the areas of proteomics/metabolomics.

Under this programme, one faculty member and one student have already received training at the University of Padova, Italy. The candidates are selected by the joint selection committee of both the institutes.

SKUAST-K Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nazir Ahmed Ganai commended the Program Coordinator, Dr. Sajjad Majeed Zargar, for this collaborative initiative that enhances the university’s international outlook and helps students benefit from the global education and innovation ecosystem. helps.
