The Gas cylinders were supplied by Government for free distribution among Below Poverty line (BPL) females Under Prime Minister’s Ujwala Schemes but unfortunately after submitting of documents of different females,as gas agency dealers have not provided them cylinders.
Locals told that they were shocked after they received SMS regarding issuance of gas connections in their names.
Following the inputs, Ujwala Gas Scandal was busted by Joint Team of Civil & Police administration in Sub Divison Pattan of Baramulla district in which large quantity of Ujwala Gas cylinders along with stoves were recovered from different gas dealer’s in Gundibrahim village of Pattan town.
Addressing a joint presser, Sub Divisional Magistrate Pattan Syed Naseer along with Sub Divisional Police officer Pattan Zafar Mehdi, Tehsildar Singpora Nisar Awam, Naib Tehsildar Singpora Ghulam Mustafa lone and D.O PP Mirgund Mohmmad Ashraf .
They stated that after receiving complaints from general people administration have busted a scam of Ujwala Gas Scam in which large quantity of dumped gas cylinders were recovered from the dealers.
SDM further stated that gas cylinders were supplied by Government for free distribution among BPL females under Prime Minister’s Ujwala Schemes but unfortunately, there was embezzlement in the whole process.
Meanwhile FIR has been registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation has been started
