Srinagar, December 15: The University of Kashmir (KU) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kashmir Care Foundation (KCF), marking a significant step towards strengthening academic collaboration, research initiatives and skill-development programmes for students.
The partnership aims to enhance leadership qualities, soft skills, mentorship, internships and overall career readiness of KU students across STEM as well as humanities disciplines. Under the MoU, both institutions will jointly organise seminars, workshops and research activities focusing on contemporary and emerging issues, including climate change, public health, chronic diseases and new technologies.
As part of the collaboration, KU and KCF will also work on developing educational initiatives for the University’s model school, supporting faculty members in preparing grant proposals, and extending academic and community outreach to remote and underserved areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The agreement further explores opportunities for extramural funding and the implementation of collaborative projects of mutual interest.
To ensure effective implementation and long-term impact, the MoU provides for the establishment of a Strategic Advisory Board and Core Working Groups. These bodies will guide joint activities, monitor progress and ensure sustained engagement, with the objective of creating meaningful outcomes for students, faculty and the wider community.
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment by the University of Kashmir and the Kashmir Care Foundation to promote academic excellence, social responsibility and inclusive development through education and research.
